Lara’s Biography
For over a decade, I have spent my career working on “both sides of the desk” in the fields of college counseling and college admissions. This includes having served: as a College Counselor at a highly rigorous independent school in Cincinnati; as an application reader for Northwestern University, the prestigious Morehead-Cain Scholarship at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Kenyon College; as an Admissions Consultant; and as Assistant Director of Admission at Kalamazoo College. This extensive, diverse set of experiences affords me the knowledge, insight, and understanding to help students and parents find joy, excitement, and possibilities in what is all-too-often seen as a complicated and stressful process.
Throughout my career, I have savored the opportunity to work with young people—learning about their interests and goals, helping guide them through some of life’s important choices, and assisting them in finding meaningful ways to learn about themselves and the world around them. As a College Counselor and College Admissions Consultant, I pride myself on being a trusted resource, an accessible sounding board, and an enthusiastic advocate for my students.
While I celebrate each and every college acceptance alongside these kids, I treasure the meaningful relationships formed along the way above all else. It is this passion for working with students and fostering their development that makes a great college consultant. At the same time, I bring an expansive knowledge base that was grown throughout the years by way of frequent professional development opportunities and by visiting 100+ colleges across the country and world. And it is my commitment to meeting each and every student where they are—and leveraging my expertise to help them get where they wish to be—that I believe truly distinguishes LM College Consulting.
I enjoy working alongside my professional partner and former admissions/counseling colleagues in order to provide the most comprehensive, impactful services possible. Although located in Charlotte, NC, I work with students regardless of location.

Sharon’s Biography
I always say to students that "Everyone has a story to tell!" and I am committed to helping each one "find their voice"; a voice that conveys who they are and bolsters their confidence not only in the college search process, but in life.
With over 20 years of experience in creating, strategizing and executing narratives for both people and products, my skills have seamlessly evolved to helping college-bound students. Beyond my career in marketing strategy, I worked in education as an instructor, author and test prep writer for Kaplan Educational Services. As a college mentor and writing tutor, I love helping students explore and determine the next steps for their future. I enjoy using my creative and analytical strengths throughout the process to develop a personalized college search list, assist with college essays, and support students as they finalize and send applications. Having visited 50+ campuses, I am passionate about the college search process and how each student can navigate it successfully. I am confident my excitement, compassion, and positivity will help your child's college search process be rewarding and successful.
